Training

The ULM flying school
of Guadeloupe

Ulm caraïbes has trained more than fifty pilots in the archipelago.
Several instructors are at your disposal and teach you how to fly multi-axis Ulm (2-seater aircraft) or one of our autogyros.

Several options are available to you

Start with an Initiation Flight, or, with the controls in hand and an instructor supporting you, you take off with the aircraft. Continue with the Formula Déclic to familiarize yourself with driving, then obtain your Pilot’s license if you feel like you’re growing wings!

The Initiation Flight

The introductory flight allows you to discover piloting.
The emphasis is on the pleasure of flying, assisted by your instructor, you will be at the controls from takeoff.

Once in flight you will learn to familiarize yourself with the third dimension and perform simple maneuvers, alone at the controls.

  • Pre-flight briefing
  • A 42-minute flight
  • A debriefing

The Déclic Formula

Committing to learning to fly is an important and thoughtful decision.
The Déclic formula allows you to know if your decision to fly can develop into a real passion.

Déclic is a 3-hour module including one hour of theoretical training and two hours of flight. Lessons are taught over four 30-minute flights, which are more effective for the student. Each flight includes a briefing and debriefing. The theoretical courses will allow you to understand the constraints linked to the training. In case of continuation of the training the formula  » Déclic  » will be included in the general program leading to the ULM pilot’s license.

  • Two hours of flight with instructor
  • One hour of theoretical training

Phases of your learning

  • Learning flight and safety procedures
(approximately 15 hours in dual commands).
  • When you know how to fly, “the release” comes (usually a lap around the track) for your first experience alone on board (a moment you will never forget).
  • After completing your theoretical and practical knowledge and checking it, you will be able, after a few additional hours of flight, to normally claim authorization to fly alone on board and obtain your certificate.
  • After perfecting and learning navigation, you will be able to transport a passenger under your responsibility by obtaining the “passenger carriage” authorization.

Training

The training generally takes place in sessions including a theoretical course, a pre-flight briefing, a flight of approximately 30 minutes then a debriefing.
You will be guided by your instructor in your individual work to prepare for your theoretical exam .

General conditions:

  • Be over 15 years old.
  • Skip a theoretical exam (free) in the form of multiple choice questions organized periodically by the aeronautical district.
  • Satisfy a multi-axis theoretical knowledge test organized by your instructor.
  • Obtain an authorization to fly alone on board issued by your instructor.
  • Obtain a flight authorization with passengers after inspection and improvement.
  • Obtain a restricted radio telephony certificate.

The file:

  • 1 piece of identification,
  • 3 ID photos,
  • original of the certificate of aptitude for the theoretical test.
